The billing method is explained to you at your first appointment, before you make any commitment: you know from the outset how the fees for your case will be calculated.
What determines the fees
Fees are set in accordance with the ethical rules of the legal profession. They take into account in particular:
- the complexity of the case;
- the time devoted to it (research, drafting…);
- what is at stake;
- the result obtained and the benefits it brings you.
Billing methods
Fees are determined according to the nature and complexity of the case and what is at stake in the dispute. For complex advisory or litigation matters, where the workload cannot be known in advance, a suitable billing method is proposed to you.
An additional success fee, calculated according to the gain obtained or the loss avoided, may also be agreed.
